Real-time detection of the key parameters that determine the production of solar power (irradiation first and foremost, but also temperature, rain and wind speed) is an essential requisite for solar power plants, even small and medium-sized ones.

The recent concept of the agrivoltaic farm, in which the use of often fertile, productive land is partially mitigated by growing particular crops beneath the solar panels, also has a specific need for integrated soil/weather monitoring systems, and here the Netsens IoT solution is the perfect choice.

One of the essential technologies needed for solar power plants is a measurement system for weather and irradiation parameters. This can be achieved by means of appropriately calibrated sensors compliant with WMO criteria, which can constantly and accurately collect all the essential data, including direct and reflected irradiation, air temperature, wind direction and intensity, and precipitation.
