How it works
The stations acquire the weather data (settable interval between 1 and 60 minutes) and send them to the central system via TCP / IP (2G / 3G / 4G, LAN, fiber, SAT and more).
All information is presented to operators in the Control Room through an advanced graphical user interface, accessible on the intranet and optionally via the internet, even on smartphones and tablets.
The MeteoMod CPU datalogger, designed and produced by Netsens, includes all the features of a small workstation: Linux operating system, expandable data acquisition peripherals, solid state non volatile memory, hardware level supervision. TCP / IP communication to the central system is via LAN and external modem / router. The configuration and the visualization of the data takes place through an advanced interface on the web server, which allows all the main maintenance and diagnostic operations to be carried out locally and remotely.
The open architecture allows you to implement and customize numerous features currently required for this application including:
The system architecture also allows the data received from the stations to be forwarded to other monitoring and management platforms, through the implementation of appropriate machine-to-machine data exchange protocols (eg XML).
Road meteorology often requires checking the state of the road surface, for the management of critical situations on the road network in winter.
The use of advanced sensors for measuring pavement parameters (temperature, ice / snow presence, freezing point, presence and concentration of antifreeze compounds etc.) combined with reliable real-time data communication and an advanced user interface for the Control Room, they provide a complete and extremely useful solution.
The presentation of the data, in graphic and analytical form and through a synoptic panel with warning lights, allows the Control Room operators to coordinate the intervention of the snow plow and salt spreaders, having an immediate and effective confirmation of the situation on the road.
Optionally the system can be equipped with a power supply kit using a photovoltaic panel and rechargeable batteries, which allows maximum installation flexibility, as well as a reduction in the costs associated with civil works, freeing the choice of the installation point from the presence of connection to the electricity grid.
For the installation, the main box, the standard weather sensors and the photovoltaic panel (if present) are to be positioned on a special roadside board, of a size suitable for the structural requirements. All components will be installed at appropriate heights in order to dissuade from theft or tampering. The ice detection sensor (if present) is positioned inside the road surface, so as not to create obstacles or danger to traffic. The rechargeable battery (if present) can be placed in a special underground plinth, also used as a foundation for the support pole.
MeteoSense 4.0 is the professional weather station capable of acquiring data from weather sensors and wireless environmental sensors in real time, transferring all acquired data to local or remote systems and presenting them in a simple and intuitive way.
The Netsens road weather systems (RWIS) combine the ease-of-use of the weather acquisition units for info mobility (MeteoSense PRO and CPU MeteoMod), with the reliability of the weather sensors designed for uninterrupted and maintenance-free operation.
Netsens offers innovative systems for hydrological monitoring through environmental weather stations and real-time electronic sensors that monitor watercourses and basins, even in hostile environments such as salt and thermal water, with no moving parts and low maintenance.
Netsens weather stations have advanced technical features of wireless sensor networks for environmental monitoring applications for industry, with high reliability of real-time data communication and quality of service.
MeteoSense is the ideal weather station compliant with WMO requirements, for environmental monitoring of waste landfills. The network of weather sensors generate reports as required by law and automatically warns of any anomalies.
Netsens offers a wide range of professional weather sensors that can be easily integrated into third party systems. Soil humidity and temperature sensors, solar radiation sensors, electrical conductivity sensors, road pavement sensors, rain gauges, thermo-hygrometers, visibility gauges.
